Social interaction is not needed, so why do my parents say otherwise?

people are social creatures and thus social interaction is very important. we rely on our social groups to give us security and confidence which boosts our self esteem. however, there are some of us who are very introverted and as long as you can honestly maintain a decent level of self esteem and security, then your going to be ok and you wont become a cerial killer lol. but seriously, if your happy being alone, your parents should accept that and maybe by talking with a councilor you can proove that your fine and convey the message to your parents.
