In a Hunter/Jumper show, how to do your hair?

I'm starting to compete in hunter/jumpers and i have been competing in eventing my whole life. I know that most hunters put their hair under their helmet, but my hairs thick and long, and having all that hair up under the helmet can cause my helmet to do an inefficient job protecting my head, and its uncomfortable. How else could i do my hair? Could i use my eventing show bow/hairnet?
